About Our School

Silver Sands Montessori (SSMCS) is the only public Montessori school in Southern Nevada. As a school of choice in Clark County, SSMCS is a state-sponsored, tuition-free charter school that serves grades Kindergarten through 8.  This innovative charter school opened in 2009 with grades K through 5, added a grade level each year, and added 8th grade in 2012.

Silver Sands Montessori believes in a unique vision for education. By blending the proven principles of Maria Montessori (The Montessori Way) and the state of Nevada's academic performance standards, our students receive a rare combination of learning principles.

SSMCS strongly believes in a well-rounded student and facilitates this by offering clubs, field trips, athletics, festivals, before-and-after-school programs and participation in the Southern Nevada Science Fair and Nevada Geography Bee.
